Natural Solutions for Mild Acne

by Sabina Carvalho

All around the world, people suffer from minor to mayor acne problems. As a consequence, there is a large market for the treatment of acne problems. Most of them are over-the-counter drugs, but there are other alternatives.

Home remedies and natural treatments have recently become a popular choice for acne sufferers. Some home remedies are myths, but some are quite effective. However, in this text we will focus on the causes of acne breakouts and a few of the more popular and effective treatments for acne.

What produces acne?

In essence is a skin condition where the skin pores become clogged. These pores lead to inflamed (pimples and zits) and non-inflamed lesions (blackheads and whiteheads). What leads to the clogging of the skin pores?

The primary answer is genetics. If both parents have acne, there is a 75% chance of their children having it. Other factors such as stress, sun exposure, seasonal changes and climate can worsen an already existing acne problem. Working women are more prone to breakouts due to their highly stressful lives in addition to the regular use of pore-clogging makeup.

Natural Acne Treatments

Drug stores offer a wide range of OTC drugs for the treatment of acne problems. However, we should not overlook natural acne skin care. Here are a few alternatives.

Grated Cucumber: Remedy 1

One of the most effective natural products for the treatment of acne is cucumber. Just grate a cucumber and apply the paste over your face, eyes and neck for about twenty minutes. It will reduce swelling and, if used on a regular basis, it will get rid of blackheads and clogged pores.

Aspirin Paste: Remedy 2

Aspirin is a useful and inexpensive pimple treatment. Make a paste by placing a couple of drops of water on and aspirin tablet and then apply it directly to the pimple. Leave the paste on for a couple of hours and see how it dries up.

Orange Peels: Remedy 3

Another inexpensive treatment can be found in orange peels. Pound the orange peel with a mortar and pestle and a little bit of water. Leave the pounded peels on the affected areas for about twenty minutes.

These home remedies are for mild acne and occasional pimples. If you have severe acne, like cystic acne, consult with a professional. Chronic acne, however, is a serious condition and should be taken seriously.

You can safely deal with occasional outbreaks and, by consequence, acne scars by using natural acne treatment remedies. They will help minimize the appearance and extent of the blemishes and keep your skin healthy. Try out a natural acne treatment remedy to see which one gives you the best results.
