What is a Microdermabrasion Cream

by Corinne Turner

Microdermabrasion with a cream is a procedure that uses fine micro-crystals embedded in a skin regenerating cream to softly remove flawed and dead skin cells, oil deposits and debris through deeper than normal exfoliation, by polishing the top layer of skin either on your face or body. This promotes cellular renovation, rejuvenates, softens and regularizes the outer layer of skin.

Eliminate Acne Scars Through Skin Remodeling

Skin remodeling is the process that determines the removal or reduction of acne scars. The skin heals injuries quickly to avoid blood loss and infection. Scars are rapidly formed as a "collagen glue" deposit in an injured area to protect and strengthened it. In ideal skin healing, injured skin is quickly closed and the healed site is calmly reconstructed by removing the unnecessary collagen scar tissues and blending the skin patch into the nearby skin. Scarred collagen is removed and replaced with new skin cells and invisible collagen fibers. The skin remodeling process may continue in an area for ten years.

When we are children the rate of remodeling is very high and scars are quickly removed from wounded areas. But as we reach adulthood, this rate slows down and small scars may persist for many years. One method to speed up the rate of remodeling is by inducing a small amount of controlled skin harm with a needle, microdermabrasion, laser burning, or by other means, and then let the repair processes rebuild the skin patch. A second method is to use healing accelerators to increase the body's natural healing processes aimed to obtain an even better final result.

Microdermabrasion creams use tiny or micro particles to abrade the skin and gradually remove scars, dark or discolored skin tissues. The process has become a standard practice performed in various areas, from dermatologist and plastic surgery offices to some spas and high end aesthetician clinics.

A microdermabrasion approach is recommended for your facial skin if you have suffered scarring due to nodules, cysts or other severe forms of acne. The treatment will remove the topmost layer of the skin of dead cells and smooth out scarred tissues.

The method works especially well for those who that have suffered disfiguring acne episodes. Microdermabrasion smoothes the surface of the skin and reduces skin imperfections. If the product you use includes not only micro-crystals but also a substance that speeds skin rejuvenation, then new collagen and glycosaminoglycans will build up quickly and at the right pace and those will restore your healthy skin glow and skin resilience.

Microdermabrasion of acne scars is an option for people whose severe breakouts result in facial scars. However it won't work on pitted or ice-pick acne scars that are very deeply imbedded in the skin.

It is important to remember that microdermabrasion is not a good choice for individuals with the following conditions: lupus, rosacea, warts, herpes, eczema, and diabetes.
